ANZAC FROM THE ATTIC
A programme to tug at the heart strings.“From the Attic” is Māori Television’s special ANZAC Day programme unearthing ANZAC taonga from attics, storage chests or long forgotten boxes.
Many Kiwi families throughout the country have objects of special significance that tell the war story of an ancestor, a relative or even themselves. While some have been kept carefully and cherished for decades, passed down from generation to generation, others are more recent discoveries or even bought at auction, explains producer Jasmine Puji. Each one has its own story and significance to those who look after them.
“From the Attic” features some remarkable finds, with some equally remarkable stories behind them – stories of long lost loves, relatives, siblings and treasures.
Here are just a few of them – hear more of the “From the Attic” stories – ANZAC Day, 10.30AM
